We will help people live healthy, connected lives by growing, learning, connecting with other members of the community and spending time outdoors.
1
We will increase levels of food growing in the local community to build self-reliance and self-sufficiency and improve access to cheap fresh local fruit and vegetables , in line with Highland Council’s Community Food Growing Strategy, improving access to fresh, affordable, healthy local food
2
We have developed links with partner organisations which will benefit from access to the Field, including Action for Children, Homelessness Trust, and Centred. The result could be provision of life-changing opportunities and access to fresh food contributing to deliver the 2024 – 2027 Highland Outcome Improvement Plan Maximise Opportunities and Tackle Inequality to Build a Thriving Highlands for All., In addition we will support work of the Inverness Community Partnership.
3
Working with other organisations and local schools we will be able to provide a safe space and opportunities to benefit more deprived communities or groups, as well as links to GP practices for social prescribing and therapeutic gardening initiatives.. This will help the Think Health Think Nature- Highland Green Health Partnership objectives (our Natural Health Service).
