Join Us: Knocknagael Ltd (SC668011) Membership Application (January 2026)
​Knocknagael Ltd is a charity which was established to bring the Smiddy Field at the Knocknagael Farm on Essich Road, Inverness into community ownership, and to develop it as an asset for the community.
After many years of effort, we finally took ownership of the Smiddy Field in January 2026. We plan to create a resource for the local community that includes allotments, an orchard, amenity and recreational areas, and a community local food growing area.

Membership is open to everyone. Depending on your location, you can join as an Ordinary Member or an Associate Member.
Ordinary Membership of Knocknagael Ltd is open to people aged 16 or older who normally reside in Inverness as defined by the two Highland Council Wards Inverness Ness-Side & Inverness South. Ordinary Members can vote and be elected as Directors of the Company. Associate Membership for people aged 16 or older who normally reside outside the Inverness Wards shown above, and Junior Membership for people aged under 16, are also available. Associate Members can be elected or co-opted as Directors, with the same voting rights as Ordinary Member Directors. You can find out your Highland Council Ward by clicking HERE.

As of our AGM in January 2026, there is no annual membership subscription payable, and we have instead adopted a voluntary donation model. We need unrestricted funds to run our charity and to advance our ambitious plans for the Field. All donations are very gratefully received and you can donate through this link:
