Vision
Our vision for the Smiddy Field is:

To create green hub that will improve individual health and wellbeing and community cohesion by encouraging people in our community to spend more time outdoors, and grow and enjoy local produce.
We will:
-
Increase levels of food growing in the local community to build self-reliance and self-sufficiency and improve access to fresh, affordable, healthy, locally-produced food
-
Help people live healthy, connected lives by growing, learning, connecting with other members of the community and spending time outdoors.
-
Increase the biodiversity, landscape and amenity value of the South Inverness area by providing protected habitat areas, promoting carbon literacy and creating a protected green space on the city’s edge.
-
Help to build a resilient and sustainable local economy by improving access to horticultural training, increasing skill levels in the community, preserving traditional skills and providing a platform for new ideas.
