By creating a new community asset to help local people live more connected and healthy lives, the project will support the delivery of the local Community Wealth Building Strategy.
The community consultation event on the pre-application allotments plans organised in Green Drive Hall on February 25 had more than 70 members of the public attending, with a 97% of those who responded to the survey highly supportive and saw it as an opportunity to spend more time outdoors.

Local schools have expressed an interest in using the Field to enhance learning and provide a range of opportunities for pupils. The site is within walking distance of six schools (five primary schools and Inverness Royal Academy, the largest secondary in the Highlands). The project will deliver the Curriculum for Excellence through Outdoor Learning.
