Though lockdown and winter can seem endless at the moment, its good time to start thinking about and planning the garden or allotment for the growing year ahead. Many seeds can be obtained mail order and many supermarkets and hardware shops are selling them. Though garden centres are closed, many are open for click and collect and many deliver locally.
Seed potatoes need to be "chitted" i.e. placed on a bright windowsill where they can develop roots and shoots ready for planting later in the spring.
